For CQWW 2024 we were once again guests of Upper Chancton Farm and we are very grateful to Stephen for allowing us to use the field and barn.
We set up the antennas and equipment on Saturday morning in torrential rain so as to be ready to start operating around midday. We then operated right through 'til midday Sunday with many members getting the chance to put in a shift operating and/or logging.

On the 6th June 2024 for the 80th anniversary of D-Day, Worthing Radio Events Group will be active using the special event callsign GB8OFP. The location for the station is Ferring Pillbox, Pattersons Walk, Ferring, West Sussex, IO90ST, WAB TQ00. The pillbox will also be open to the public for viewing.

Being located in Worthing, on the coastal plain with large chalk hills between here and the rest of the UK, the group had never previously taken part in VHF NFD. Thanks to Bill (G8AQX) obtaining access to a portable location just north of the South Downs at IO90TW and single-handedly planning the equipment and operation, the group was able to have a first attempt at VHF NFD, operating under the callsign M0REG/P.

A shack day was held at the QTH of Mike, G0JXX, with a vague theme of repairing or generally sorting out any pieces of kit members were having trouble with. Members brought along a variety of objects and all were successfully sorted out, at least to some degree.

Worthing Radio Events Group held a ‘Codar Test and Repair’ day on 28th January at the QTH of Mike, G0JXX.
