Many members assisted with running a station at the Broadwater Carnival event. Thanks are due to Nigel and Chris for arranging this event and providing the whole station including accommodation. The safe and efficient erection of the G5RV was due to the team who assembled early that morning.
The team worked well with Martin to do this. Several of them only came to help with assembly, as they had other commitments.
The antenna worked well all day, giving a whole page of contacts in the log. Of particular note was the contact with the special event station at Eilean Donan Castle, Scotland.
Passers-by were able to see the station operating, several people stopped to investigate and a number of radio amateurs stopped to chat. David found the most satisfying aspect of the day was the operating skills gained by himself and the foundation and student members.
