Many members assisted with running a station at the Broadwater Carnival event. Thanks are due to Nigel and Chris for arranging this event and providing the whole station including accommodation. The safe and efficient erection of the G5RV was due to the team who assembled early that morning.

The day dawned bright and the threat of rain had reduced to "less than 5%" according to the Met Office. This contest was to be a solo effort by G0XAN, other club members being too busy (or too sensible!) to combine a significant hill climb with some outdoors radio.

A successful Antenna Party , attended by seven members, was held on Saturday March 10th at the QTH of Peter G4HNU.
The main objective was to assemble and tune at ground level a Hustler 5BTV trap vertical. A 15 metre Delta loop was also erected and a 4 metre 1/4 wave vertical was positioned 20 feet above ground.
Unfortunately, a sked to contact Paul, W4/G3SXE in Florida on 15 metres was unsuccessful.
The Hustler trap vertical on 40 metres proved to be 2 S-points up on receive compared with G4HNU's existing Carolina Windom at a height of 30 feet.
The 4 metre 1/4-wave vertical worked well.

The request had come via a circuitous route and only reached the group with two weeks to go before the event! Despite the short notice and not having taken part in TDOTA for many years, we managed to put a station on the air.
