On the 6th June 2024 for the 80th anniversary of D-Day, Worthing Radio Events Group will be active using the special event callsign GB8OFP. The location for the station is Ferring Pillbox, Pattersons Walk, Ferring, West Sussex, IO90ST, WAB TQ00. The pillbox will also be open to the public for viewing.
All being well the station will be active on the HF bands 80m AM for the VMARS net at 0800hrs followed by 80m, 40m and 20m using SSB with modern HF as well as military equipment being used. There will also be a VHF station on 2m, both SSB and FM.
On Saturday, 1st June, the group had a “dry run” to assemble the station and antennas.
